Since we were hosting Thanksgiving (actually the Saturday after Thanksgiving) at our place (13 total people), we had another big push to try to finish up the living room. Before our Mexican vacation I spent some time on things, but the insanity began the day after we returned.

Other than the small issue with the hotel not having a registration for us, we were able to get to our room pretty easily.

Cara and I are on a plane headed to Cancún, the last reasonable vacation before baby arrives. I don’t mind flying (unlike Cara who really hates it). It does tend to be a number of hours of almost boredom (usually compounded upon lack of sleep). More »

I would be a bit remiss if I didn’t blog a little about Obama’s win in the presidential election. I was just browsing through photos on The Big Picture, specifically the set of The Next President of the United States, and I have to admit a strange feeling of patriotism which I haven’t felt… well probably ever. Obama has talked the talk, and walked the walk. He takes this job seriously, and I know that even though the short term goal was to get into the White House, he has a long term goal.

A Tee-shirt a Week

So, at the new job we don’t have a dress code (well, ok, I suppose we are required to wear pants… I think). So I’ve gone to running out of button down shirts and pressed slacks to, well running low on tee-shirts. I’ve decided to set a challenge for myself, I’m going to buy a tee-shirt a week.

Last weekend I finally gave that “renovations” ball a push to see if I could get it rolling again (ok, Cara probably gave me a push to do it). It’s actually been two full months since I’ve touched the living room and dining room. Of course leading up to our pool party Cara and I both spent every waking hour working on those rooms.
